The Human Development Corporation of Metropolitan St. Louis is a private nonprofit organization. It is the official "Community Action Agency" for St. Louis City and Wellston, Missouri. Since its inception in 1964, the agency has dedicated its existence to the development and promotion of human dignity and self-sufficiency. HDC has been in the forefront of community action, through its:

Client Intake Procedures

HDC operates a unique Family Intake/Assessment/Referral System which identifies individual/family needs and connects them to appropriate helping resources. This process helps meet immediate needs and solves long-term problems. Follow-up sessions are provided. Eligibility for agency services: Includes meeting federally established income guidelines and residence in St. Louis City or Wellston, Missouri. Documents needed: Proof of income, proof of family size, and proof of address.
